HATHA YOGA TEACHER TRAINING COURSE 250HRS

<THE SECRET OF BEING A GOOD TEACHER IS TO REMAIN A STUDENT>

Our yoga teacher training course lasts two years and comes officially certified by CSEN ITALIA and, at an international level, by Yoga Alliance. The training itself is based on the method “Centered Yoga Dona Holleman”.  This approach, with direct links to B.K.S.Iyengar, is innovative and easily adaptable to all types of yoga, from the more static Hatha Yoga practice to the dynamism of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga.

Led by Francesca Petrilli, who has worked intimately with Dona Holleman over the years, the course is suitable for everyone.  Both yoga “newbies” and more expert practitioners will benefit both in the evolution of their own personal practice and in the deepening of their knowledge through a method that is transparent, linear and, above all, serious.  In the case of already qualified teachers, the course fits in perfectly with the “life long learning” creed.  It is also a great opportunity for acquiring new skills and tools to better follow students.

At the heart of this course is the attention placed both on the body and upon the individual.  All bodies think and do so with an anatomical intelligence that allows yoga postures to be unveiled, without effort.  The energetic anatomy of the subtle body, meanwhile, is a map that guides us in our breathing, bandha and mudra work.

There are three fundamental aspects of the course:

  1. Practicing the classic asanas (standing positions, complete cycle of sitting and forward bending poses, complete padmasana cycle, twists, back extensions and inverted positions) as well as constructing practicing sequences that lead toward the realization of more difficult asanas.
  2. Breathing and the different techniques of Pranayama.
  3. Student adjustments created and refined (with considerable attention to the study of anatomy) by Dona in her more than fifty years of practice and teaching.  Anatomy (muscles, skeleton, breathing, energy) will therefore be an important element of the course.

In the two years of teacher training there will also be space for reading and discussing the classic ancient texts of Hatha Yoga and Pranayama. We will also be recommending a series of books and authors (e.g. B.K.S. Iyengar, Vanda Scaravelli, Krisnamurti and Castaneda), all of fundamental importance in the development of the Centered Yoga Dona Holleman method and her Eight Vital Principles.

The course also includes practical teaching opportunities, perfect for gaining experience and confidence “on the go” and useful preparation for the final practical exam.

We await you to start this path of growth and awareness together.
